In a very crucial game for Delhi Daredevils, they take on a resurgent Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday. A win will most certainly take the winning side to the final four, something which is not yet clear with all sides still in with a chance to make it to the semi-finals.
Delhi have made matters worse for themselves losing three games on a trot and are now in a desperate situation where only a win can further their chances of a place in the semi-finals. Losses to Kolkata, Punjab and most recently Mumbai has hurt them badly but their positive run-rate is a good thing going for them; something which has still kept the side in the top four, even after three consecutive defeats.
Chennai on the other hand have also had a pretty ordinary tournament if we take into account the talent of the squad. The team though has come into its own since reinforcements from Australia arrived in the form of pacer Doug Bollinger and middle order batsman Michael Hussey. Their last win, in which they thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders, also showed that on a good day this team is capable of pulling off almost anything.
As far as the pitch is concerned, the track at the Chidambaram stadium has always produced runs on the higher side. The fact that both sides are batting heavy should also make the game a slug fest.
